Josefina looks WONDERFUL! I've been hesitant about taking out my Josefina's braid (even though it's not the original one) because I've heard how easily she can get tangled and matted; but if she's that fixable, maybe I can relax a little with her.

colette denali--I got my steamer from ebay; just search under "steamquick" and you should be able to find a few up for auction--they're not very expensive, and do a great job. That's the kind used on the justmagicdolls.com site in the hair restoration tutorial. Good luck finding your steamer!

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">Not a dumb question at all. Rinse all of it, until the water runs clear and then for an additional minute or so. Honestly, the Downy isn't what makes such a huge difference. It's the steaming. Downy makes the fuzzies softer but they're still there; the steam helps you smooth them.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">To be completely honest, I wouldn't relax with her. This makes it look fixable, but Josefina lost a ton of hair. I think she lost a lot of it at AGPC; they can be really rough, and they do not Downy Dunk or steam. Brushing through those matts and frizzies breaks the hair, and brushing top-down breaks it at/near the scalp (I grip firmly and brush bottom-up, about an inch at time).

Josefina has several patches about 1-1.5" long that were tiny, solid matts. I had to smooth them first, then brush the smooth, long hairs over them for the hair on top and back of her head to look the way it does. She had already lost a lot of hair, and I took out around 20-25 additional strands, despite being very careful.

I wouldn't risk the matting, as it takes a toll on the wig every time it happens. Emily and I talked about this too. I don't think her Josefina's wig will survive another matting, Dunk and steam, if it gets bad again. She'd be on her way to the hospital, and that would really **** the life out of Emily's Lindsey fund.

    Thanks everyone for your comments!

ETA: I've been censored! The word there is s u c k. I guess it doesn't take context into consideration, huh?

Emily is here with me. She wants to tell you to never take out Josefinas braid. Miss Heather did a very good job on her hair!
